Thanks for the info, dcpillai
1. To requeue simply because of the rims and yet still pay retail price for it is simply not practical. Just get your car and buy directly from them instead. Another forumer here has mentioned that you can get cheaper rims from Audi Singapore .
2, as with most premium brands gone mainstream like Merc, BMW and Audi, most of the SAs all seem disinterested in their customers. Questions will most be answered by a single syllable, if you are lucky. Sometimes, SMSes or calls are not picked up. The customer service experience at Audi is much poorer than BMW. I mean, look no further, there's only a crappy Nescafé machine for crap coffee and 2 pcs of Oreo biscuits if you ask. You get a more welcoming experience at Hyundai. I made sure my thoughts are loudly heard when Audi Singapore called to enquire about my buying and ownership experience. I hope Audi retakes the principal dealership back from EM
3. 2 inches is a lot but I guess if EM is ok with that, one can always use that as a guideline for a rim upgrade. There are wheel diameter calculater on the net which tracks the corresponding changes in rim and tyre size and profile, to see if they fall within the 2% rule so as not o distort the speedo reading
4. I was really hoping to get google earth and brown interior but my SA says that wasn't an available option at the time. Darn! Seems like they are more flexible with the customizations now. Wonder if they have also opened the booking floodgates again as my SA earlier said that they may offer a further no more than 500 units available.

Hi Guys. All this talk about rims and the fact that I dislike the hybrid rims was driving me crazy so I went to Audi to see for myself. A few things I learnt this weekend:
1. You can change the rims that your car comes with. However you will have to requeue and the car will arrive in Nov/Dec (if you order it soon). My original delivery date was July.
2. You will have to pay to upgrade. An upgrade from the hybrid rims to 19" rims will cost about 13K AND you will have to pay 50% up front (I suspect that my SA does not like me at all)(FYI, Audi service truly sucks).
3. I was surprised that when I saw 2 identical A6s with 18 inch and 19 inch wheels side by side, the one with the 19" wheels was actually higher/taller than the one with the 18" wheels. I would suspect about a 2 inch difference. I was gobsmacked by the difference! I never knew the rims and tyre choice affected the overall profile of the car!
4. Audi has a list of options which you can order, from nougat brown seats, to different rims, to Google earth and wireless internet built into your car, etc. Best thing is to check out the list with the SA.
That's about it. Good hunting guys!

Hi Guys,
Just to share my mod, change my rim to another replica 18" Audi 5 segment spoke design but keeping the tire, no problem so far ( running more than 2500 km now ) . Keeping the original 10 arm turbine design rims in case require later.

17 inch will look way out of place in this humongous car. I think 18 inch is a good compromise between looks and comfort.
However, if you plan to get non branded after market ones, besides having to make sure the wheel off-set is correct and the overall diameter after installation does not run too far away else the tyre pressure sensor may be affected, you will also need to ensure that its a good quality one able to withstand the huge load of the car.
