After checking at Audi service centre, the mechanic decided to change both the mounting and lower arm bush. That's all I can say.

Thanks for the feedback, kcho.

As I'm also facing this vibration issue, this piece of information will come handy to me to talk to Audi Service Center to request for part change. Very Happy

When the car is idle, the steering was vibrating when the hybrid battery is charging.

Hi kcho,
May I ask why was the lower arm bush change out ? Was this bush from the rear suspension ? Appreciates if you can share more info on this....Thanks !

Hi Jan999,
Thanks for the info.

What my concern was not so much on the slight jerk felt when engine kicks in, but rather on the vibrations felt during the "engine charging hybrid battery" process....the vibration level...to me, is not very please to both my butt and passengers on board. 1st timer sitting in my car will ask "why is the car vibrating so bad....anything wrong ?"....quite embarrassing as this is an Audi. Power lost wise....yes, I do feel the acceleration slacks off as compared to before....not as responsive and bombastic when flooring the accelerator...think I should heed your advise and request for a thorough check at the engine mountings on my coming 90K service.

Mine is a Aug 2013 unit with 87K mileage now. Don't really feel any vibration during idling or at low speed except when the engine is charging the battery...the vibration during battery charging process is bad in a sense that both the steering wheel and the car seats vibrate...."free" massage service to my bottom...haha..
Is this vibration level normal ? Kindly advise...Thanks !

good feedback - Thank Bro

my car at Glenmarie (again...) the engine giving weird vibration starting from last week - must ask them to check the engine mounting... tq

p.s. watch out for 90k km servicing - changing ATF oil that will cost a bomb... was told the ATF oil price is like RM300++ per liter... (does it come with gold additive...)?

at 84k mileage... i will think already gone.

u will face power lost, not so smooth acceleration.

maybe leave it idling with engine full running. (dun forget most of the time when idling our car run on batt power) then your wrist on the steering and feel if any vibration. minimal is ok, but if trembling then is no good

Interesting... but very difficult to identify.
mine is a March 2013 model with 84,000 km odometer... no sign of vibration when gear change or engine start/stop.

Could torn engine mounting cause the engine to vibrate or the engine cover vibrates and engine sounded very harsh?

thank you.

usually 2 needs to be changed.

u let the car idling and see if the car vibrate. while car running at low speed, if the car running smooth or a bit vibration. if yes then go and claim.

Many of my A6 friends encountered torn engine mounting even at 20k mileage.

please check yours and claim if necessary
