Hybrid function failed - amber light

My mileage is 110k. So far no major problems except for change of aircon compressor.

mileage is 75k km.


it's better to pm about the offer i got from audi.

It seems its not a common issue.
How many KM in your car now?

Finally my car is running fine now.with help from Audi M'sia and Audi AG.

The common problem for A6H is aircond compressor, which Audi is giving free replacement with 2yrs warranty, approval on application from Audi M'sia needed.

From what they told me, the AC-DC convertor problem is not a common problem . and im 3rd car in northern region, 1st car happened without warranty. And after i emailed Audi AG, they gave me a very very good solution to keep my car alive. 2yrs warranty provided.
frankly, they are willing to help. we are not alone.

We all knew about this and we know Audi is not doing anything - risk averse owners sold the car at massive lost... i sold mine (about the same time you have this problem) at just above RM70k... at 145k mileage - i can say i've enjoyed the car for the 4 yrs i owned it.
Can get higher price if you sell to direct buyer: ALL second hand dealers know about the few major problems with the car. I suggest this issue be put to rest: Best not to discuss at all.

No suggestion on how to handle this...
Can nego with Audi for trade-in...? If can get above RM50k, good enough to get another audi now - especially with 0 gst.

Hi all.. this is the ac dc converter under the hood..  IF you can see the part number starting 4g0 (4G0 907 080 A)   if the part is ending with B your car is fine because its the new part replaced without defects.  but if you have 4G0 907 080 OR 080 A, ITS risky..    Can you tell your model number its easy to find as see in picture.  put a torch light and visible. its with a silver sticker (the box with Orange wires)

1st part 4G0907080 major isssues.
2nd part introduced because of defects in 2013 march 4G0907080A
3rd part introduced because of defcts 4G0907080B

Friends... is this ac dc issue is a common fault..... who else changed it..  lets see..  very scary...

MUST adopt this buy back scheme ... no choice; compared to just having to abandon the car when this particular part failed.

my friend also claim in Singapore. the one of the 3 A6h in Singapore.

No manufaturere will entertain such request.

however, Audi MY can offer buy back scheme for next Audi car purchase from them.

e.g. trade in A6h at rm120k but condition is, buy an Audi from them with minimum price of rm200k or so

When my car was in the workshop, I told the Audi SA that they should help all owners of A6h here to request Audi AG, about the possibility to convert our A6h into normal conventional A6.

I know it's possible, they only need to take out a few parts, remove the hybrid system, replace the torque converter to normal one. If that conversion cost 20-30k, many are more than willing to spend the money.

having said that,i just sold the car also.

With replacement cost of these parts like RM94k or SGD100k (equivalent to RM315,000 - more than the price of the new car), isn't it risky to keep the car beyond the warranty period?

my friend's A6h also same issue. claim value was SGD100k.

Just got my car back from Audi JB. Casually asked them about the price of AC-DC converter, they told me a crazy figure which I can hardly believe it

They said RM94k on the part only, before labour etc

if can check the cost for some indication in the future? this A6h is a nice car , only worrying is the cost of repairing.

last week, i went to claim rear caliper, each side costs rm3751, lol

Yup, managed to claim. Parts are to be arrived this week and can get the car back.

Meanwhile I got a loaned car A3, damn this little Audi sip so little fuel. I managed to do 19.3km/l on my way to work yesterday !!
