If its any consolation, AES summons are now suspended until further notice. The cameras continue to click away but no summons is issued until some legal issues are worked out.

9.5l/100km is not a very good score for outstation drives. I'm doing 9.2l now in my city drives with 60/40 highway/traffic ratio. Maybe you may wanna try more hybrid driving techniques like coasting and pulse and glide to improve your mileage, especially in long boring stretches.

My experience with the A6H FC after 4 full tank refill, and calculated from reset the meter every refill. I've obtained about 10.2l/100km for a mix of about 50/50 highway/city. As compare to my another hybrid Honda Civic, which I obtained 6.4l/100km.
Same lousy driving style, without much control.

It's not about how to manage FC per se but getting to know the car's dual personality. I mean, we all know there's an evil and sinister Mr Hyde waiting to be unleashed but does it also have the mild manners of Dr jekyll too?

I'm on Ron 95 and I only do bhp petrol. Their Ron 95 feels like other's ron97

Guys, how to enjoy the 480nm if you keep looking at the FC? Hehe..I've done 7600km in 2months so far...
Btw, the FC figures y'all mention is with ron95 or 97?

Bro, I think its a fallacy that all hybrids, by default, gets better FC than their conventional cousins. In fact, if one is uninformed, the FC can even be worse because he may be using the engine power to charge the battery most of the time and this consumes more fuel.

I've done about 800km and I must say for a very tight engine still being run-in, getting 8.8l/100km for a mix 60/40 highway/city is very commendable. And when you consider that this beast weighs in at 1.85 tonnes, then its even more impressive.

Naturally, to achieve that, driving pleasure has to be sacrificed in place of defensive, anticipatory hybrid style driving like coasting and 'pulse and glide' technique. You can read about my experience in the Hybrid driving tips forum.

It may not be as raw as an all out in your face type of driving, but it does produce its own fun if you take it as a challenge to achieve the objective justifying the existence of the car.

Just want to share my experience on fuel consumption of A6Hy. I used to drive BMW E60 (2008) LCI 2.5L and it is a very nice car and fuel consumption is good and economical.

After driven A6H for about 1300km now, with the same driving pattern and routes. I find the fuel cost is similar to E60, despite it's a Hybrid car and smaller cc.

So my conclusion is, dont expect to have a good saving on fuel if your are switching from a 2.0 to 2.5L continental car, unless u really change the way you drive !

My current VW has the similar function on the short and long term tracking.  It's inside the MFD indicating 1 & 2 for avg FC.

Just for others benefit :

Avg FC for 1 : reset by itself after 2-3 hours not driving the car, meaning it tracks the FC on the "current journey"

Avg FC 2: long term avg FC, this one does not reset by itself.  So it tracks the long term FC since your last reset, the distance covered under this long term avg FC is shown in other page in the MFD as well.

For me I manually reset both these counters after each refueling.  So I get the info of avg FC for the new refuel

John, congrats on your purchase.  It's an excellent car, super comfortable and very powerful.  The car doesn't feel sluggish at all considering its weight.

The a6h is equipped with loads of on board computer parameters to track efficiency and fuel consumption. There are two trackings, one called short term memory tracking, which tracks the FC used, average speed, distance covered etc everytime you start your car to the next destination.

There is another called long term memory tracking, which is reset by the user everytime you refuel to track it over a tankful.

Also, the instrument cluster will also display your immediate FC for the past 5 minutes and the MMI does have a graphical   5 minute bar chart that tracks your FC and recharging frequency over the same period.  This is meant for you to do a quick comparison of your driving style.  If your FC and charging bar is very high, it means you are using the engine to charge your batteries and FC will be affected.

What you want to achieve, if you intend to do hybrid style driving, is to ensure the FC bar is comparatively lower, say between 5-10l/100km , and your charging bar extends further, indicating that you are doing a lot of coasting and regenative braking to charge the batteries.

With my existing Passat (to be replaced) I am used to record each refueling, at least for the past 4 years, in a log book kept inside my glovebox.

Record the date / ODO mileage / litre of fuel / amount in RM

Once you do that over a long period, you will get the real fuel consumption   It's not difficult, after each pump just spend 1 minute in the car to do homework.  cheers !

I'm a car geek and like to read car manuals to extract more info from my machines.

You should track the mileage over a distance say, after every new fuel up.  Reset the mileage meter. Also, click on the menu list and choose 'on board computer', then scroll down to 'long term memory' and then long press the scroll button to reset.

There, do that for every new fuel up and you'll get the average mileage over a distance.

What's shown on the dash is only the immediate consumption during the last 5 minutes of driving

opps, i never even read the manual. Sales person told me dont stretch the engine before 1000km, but i didnt stretch the car several time to 100%. 
Consumption wise, even cruising at 100kmph on highway, the lowest i ever score is 6.8L/100km.

Is our A6h really that fuel efficient?  Yes and no

No, if we decide to take full advantage of the torquey TFSI powerplant all the time.

Yes, if we practiced anticipatory driving coupled with the hybrid driving styles of coasting and/or 'pulse and glide' technique.

Since my car is still running in, with the manual recommending for the car to be driven at no more than 60% of the engine speed within the first 1500kms, I've done about 800km thus far in my first month of ownership.

For a mix of about 60% highway, 40% city drive, most of the time staying below 60 on the power meter or below 130kmh, I'm scoring about 8.9km/100km on the long term on board computer tracking.  This is with lots of anticipatory and hybrid driving techniques of coasting plus pulse and glide
